“May your day be touched by a bit of Irish luck, brightened by a song in your heart, and warmed by the smiles of the people you love.” Previously an underground speakeasy style bar, Shorty’s reopened in March of 2010 as an Irish pub with a speakeasy feel. Shorty’s has delicious Irish inspired food made in our kitchen upstairs at Sbrocco by Chef Andrew Meek.

Shorty’s of course has Irish draft and bottled beers, outstanding Irish whiskeys, and enjoy a game of steel tip darts or a unique game called Irish Rings. Sit quietly with friends in one of our hidden away nooks and corner booths or sit at the long bar and enjoy conversation with new and old friends. Situated beneath Sbrocco Restaurant and Wine Bar at 208 Court Avenue, downtown Des Moines, this hidden gem is the perfect place to get cozy with a date or enjoy the company of friends in a quaint and intimate space.
